12:00 PM The Other Talk with Author Tim Prosch
Time: 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM Location: The Shoreline Inn Conference Center, 750 Terrace Point Blvd., Muskegon

"The Other Talk"

Tim Prosch, author of The Other Talk, will focus on the importance of talking with family and loved ones about end of life wishes.

As part of our 30 Years of Caring anniversary celebration and our National Healthcare Decisions Week programming, Harbor Hospice is pleased to bring educational programming to healthcare and community leaders.

In an excerpt from Mr. Prosch’s book, one of the most important conversations Baby Boomers can have with their children is, “the Other Talk.  This time it’s not about the beginning of life.  It’s about your last chapter of life and the issues and decisions and role reversals that you and your family need to confront while you are still able to lead the conversation. The Other Talk is designed to help you get past the many emotional barriers to an open, honest dialogue and to guide you into a thorough discussion of the four facts of life:

1. Financing your uncertain future

2. Selecting the most effective living arrangement

3. Getting the medical care you need

4. Taking charge at the end of your life”

This event is designed for anyone who works in healthcare, law, the faith community, estate and financial planning and insurance.  We all have a vested interested in sharing this information, not only with our own families, but with those whom we serve through our places of business.

There will be a $15 charge for this event at the Shoreline Inn Conference Center in Muskegon from Noon – 1:30 pm.  A buffet luncheon will be served.  This event has been approved for 1 CE Hour by the Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative and is recognized by the State of Michigan, Department of Community Health, Licensing Division for Social Work Continuing Education.  An Education Activity Application has been completed with the Michigan Nurses Association for continuing nursing education by the Michigan Board of Nursing.

5:00 PM The Other Talk Book Signing with Tim Prosch at The Coffee House
Time: 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM Location: Corner or Seaway Drive and Seminole Road in Muskegon
Please join Tim Prosch, author of The Other Talk for coffee, cookies and conversation at the Coffee House on Wednesday, April 17 from 5-6:30 pm. Bring your copy of The Other Talk and meet Tim, who will be happy to autograph your book.

Mr. Prosch's book is an important step in easing into conversations between Baby Boomers and their adult children about Boomers' end of life decisions.  All too often this conversation is postponed until a time of crisis.  One of the very best things you can do is give the gift of peace of mind to yourself and your children by beginning the conversation and putting your Advance Care Plan in place.

Please log on to www.theothertalk.com to obtain a copy of The Other Talk. You will find that this is a very reasonably priced way to begin the conversation and give your children a lasting gift.
