"The Other Talk"
Tim Prosch, author of The Other Talk, will focus on the importance of talking with family and loved ones about end of life wishes.
As part of our 30 Years of Caring anniversary celebration and our National Healthcare Decisions Week programming, Harbor Hospice is pleased to bring educational programming to healthcare and community leaders.
In an excerpt from Mr. Prosch’s book, one of the most important conversations Baby Boomers can have with their children is, “the Other Talk. This time it’s not about the beginning of life. It’s about your last chapter of life and the issues and decisions and role reversals that you and your family need to confront while you are still able to lead the conversation. The Other Talk is designed to help you get past the many emotional barriers to an open, honest dialogue and to guide you into a thorough discussion of the four facts of life:
1. Financing your uncertain future
2. Selecting the most effective living arrangement
3. Getting the medical care you need
4. Taking charge at the end of your life”
This event is designed for anyone who works in healthcare, law, the faith community, estate and financial planning and insurance. We all have a vested interested in sharing this information, not only with our own families, but with those whom we serve through our places of business.
There will be a $15 charge for this event at the Shoreline Inn Conference Center in Muskegon from Noon – 1:30 pm. A buffet luncheon will be served. This event has been approved for 1 CE Hour by the Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative and is recognized by the State of Michigan, Department of Community Health, Licensing Division for Social Work Continuing Education.
